Gretchen Johnson’s art career began with a painting class at the University of Washington when she was ten years old. Her passion for color and design has only intensified over the years and her paintings exhibit the clear extension of her desire to bring whimsy and happiness to the viewer.
An admitted Francophile she is inspired by all the designs and rich colors she experienced during her travels to Europe.
Gretchen has a Fine Art Degree from Washington State University. She studied ceramics at the Archie Bray Foundation and painting from Royce Kugler. She has her own interior design business and her work has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens Magazines. Her studio is located behind her home in the middle of her lush garden. The setting serves as a constant inspiration and a reminder of the blessings in life.
Gretchen has shown her art throughout the northwest and pieces can be found in personal collections from coast to coast.
